River Road Revival

With this project, the original open layout of the living room into the foyer and dining room failed to create a welcoming atmosphere. Its traditional style felt formal and uninviting to the client. A large, overhanging bulkhead, which dropped down from the ceiling around the room created a visual barrier, subconsciously saying "stay out!" By removing the bulkhead to reveal the room's raised ceiling, and adding a divider wall, we transformed the space into a warm and inviting gathering area. The divider wall not only provided a backdrop for the seating area, but additionally served as storage for the dining room. The new fireplace wall is functional with a linear fireplace long enough for a large screen TV, storage on one side, and seating on the other. We added a striking wood column that draws the eye upward to the raised ceiling. The result is a functional and stylish space where homeowners and guests feel relaxed and welcome.

The primary bathroom was a tight squeeze with a bulky jetted tub dominating the space. The small vanity sinks made it difficult for two people to use at once. The homeowner wanted to avoid major construction, so we had to creatively redesign within the existing walls. By eliminating the large jetted tub and opting for a freestanding model, we transformed this cramped primary bathroom into a serene oasis. A longer double vanity makes for a seamless flow, while the open layout enhances the feeling of space and connects the room to the beautiful outdoor view. Soft finishes complete the calming nature of the space and the dual shower heads ensure each person's desired temperature and settings will always be set to their liking.
